My moan day post for this week will be centered on Manchester United that lost back to back in the English Premier League to Liverpool last weekend and Burnley in the midweek, as it is now, they really need to be encourage because this is not the Manchester United we use to know before, they have suddenly lost their place in the league to other smaller clubs. United when it comes to EPL are always a club to defeat mostly during the era of Ferguson as the manager of the team but immediately he stepped down in that role, they have be struggling to get a perfect manager who has the same philosophy just like him about the game or can we just conclude that the kind of players that we have in the team then is the reason why United are so strong in the league, vividly I can still remember when players like C. Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Nani, Evra to mention few were still in the club compared to when they now have players like Rashford, Martial, James, Lindelöf, Maguire and others.

Last week, the team visited the league leader at Anfield stadium and it was a disappointing result for them as the league favourite defeated them 2 goals to nil, after losing to the gunners in a 2-0 scoreline, United returned to the game with a big margin win when the hosted Norwich in the game week 22 where two goals from Rashford and a goal from Greenwood and Martial respectively gave them the maximum points and one would have easily concluded then that the result against Norwich is a message to the league leader ( Liverpool) when both sides face each other in week 23 but reverse is the case as goal from Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah opened up their wound again, United were without Rashford in the game and it is a major blow for them because the English forward is very desperate when it comes to big matches and would have make life difficult for the Reds defenders.

Both teams had the chance to score in the opening minutes of the game, Liverpool chance came through Firmino which was later ruled out by VAR due to the poor challenge from Van Dijk on United goalkeeper David de Gea while Salah also missed a clear chance from the 6 yards and as the game continues, United chance came through Martial but the French man shot went over the post, Liverpool finally breakthrough in the 14 minutes of the game when Van Dijk converted Alexander-Arnold assist into the net but after the goal, Solskjaer boys look like they are going to force a point from the game but in most occasions, Martial who should have lead the team well in the absence of Rashford failed to deliver for the team and it was a 1-0 difference before the half break, United could have done better in the second half of the game as the team tried to cage the attacking force of Alexander-Arnold and Robertson upfront, these are players that always boost the attacking force of the Reds and the pressure continues for the league leader in the last 30 minutes of the game as United forced them back to defend their 1-0 lead until the second chance came from Liverpool goalkeeper clearance Alisson which Salah did well to put past de Gea.

United poor run in the league also continues against Burnley in the midweek and it was a shocking result as well, they were thrashed, disgraced in front of their home fans 2-0. It was Burnley first win against United at Old Trafford in almost 58 years and it came when the team needed to bridge the gap between them and Chelsea in the fourth position, United this season has always enjoying their game at home with Palace the only team to have escape with the maximum points at Old Trafford so far this season, United were very much full of confidence before the game and for real, they control most of the game by enjoying over 70 percent of the ball possession but they were not clinical in front of goal and they pay for it as goals from Wood and Rodriguez sealed the points for Burnley and that makes them 7 points cleared from the relegation zone.

My Word For United

I will be encouraging the team from what their manager said

I'm in charge, so it's down to me to get these boys going. On the pitch we've got a few leaders there and there's young players experiencing these kind of expectations. It's a difficult period. It's a hard period for them.

It is obviously clear that the only person that can bring the team together for a positive result is their manager, since he has take responsibility for their back to back lose and has admitted that it is a difficult period for them, they need to understand that tough time don't last, tough people do.
