The premier league wk17 resume yeaterday and see Brighton host Chelsea at Amex stadium. For the second time, Sarri continues with Eden Hazard as false 9 after using him in that role against Manchester City last week and it definitely work out for the Londoners as Hazard provided two assist in that encounter and yeaterday again agaist Brighton, h provided another assist and scored one goal at Amex stadium.
Hazard since joining Chelsea has become a key player under every coaches the club has appointed due to his dribbling skills and ability to hold the ball for long. He plays from the LW and can easily cut in to do anything with the ball in the opposition box. He is not the type of player that can give you 20 goals per season but can give more than that when it comes to assist.
Many people at times compare him with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but what is actually setting him back to roll with this big guys is the fact that he has not be scoring goals like them. Hazard present on the field will always give fans confidence even when they know is not the type that score goals weeks in weeks out.
Sarri decision to make some correction to the problem facing his team which has to do with the striking department sees Hazard been deployed to play as a false 9 against Manchester City with Pedro and William playing from the flank. He was there to hold the City defenders not to overlap and to hold the ball upfront for Chelsea whenever they attack with the ball. The whole thing went well for the blues as Hazard provided the two assist that led to Chelsea beating Manchester City 2-0 at the bridge.
The blues again yesterday vsited Brighton at Amex stadium and Hazard was again deployed to no 9 position for the second time under SarriBall. Pedro open the scoring for Chelsea in the 17 minutes with an assist form Hazard after dominating the match from the beginning. Hazard score the second goal in the 33 minutes before March score for the home team in the 66 minutes.
This is not the first or second time Hazard will be playing in this role, Conte first play him in that role in a 3-4-3 formation when things is not really working out for Chelsea before getting sacked. It seems Sarri is now coping from Conte idea now as Hazard has provided 3 assists and a goal in two matches playing as false 9.
For the fact that SarriBall always won possession against every team this season, the team always find it very difficult to hit the back of the net but with Hazard performance in the last two matches as the number 9, the goals seems to be coming very easy for the Londoners.
Hazard this season looks Sharp in from of goal and has already taking his goal tally to 8 goals in the league. Chelsea will be welcoming Leicester City at Stamford bridge after playing against Bournemouth in the carabao cup. If you will still remember, Conte use Hazard as a false 9 in his first season when he won the league and Hazard actually scored in that match.
