It was an anticipating match between Villarreal and Manchester United in the world of football following the poor run of the Red Devils in the English League and European competitions which led to the club parting way with manager Ole Solskjaer. Micheal Carrick was in charge yesterday as the caretaker as the club continue to look for a better replacement for Ole Solskjaer.
Michael Carrick made some great changes in the line-up yesterday with the likes of B. Fernandes and Rashford starting the game from the bench, Villarreal looks like they are going to wrap it up in the first 45 minutes as they continue to dominate from every angle with lots of attempts but David de Gea did well to keep Manchester United in the game.
The new Manager line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with players like J. Sancho, Donny van de Beek and A. Martial making their way into the starting line up, despite the team (Manchester United) finding it hard to hold the ball for long, the team continue to defend high in their own half. United has a breakthrough in the 78 minutes of the game after Geronimo Rulli passes the ball wrongly to Capoue which allows C. Ronaldo to lob the ball over the goalkeeper.
Carrick roll the dice in the 66 minutes of the game by Introducing B. Fernandes and M. Rashford into the game and at that moment, United began to dominate the game and look desperate in the opposition half. Fernandes enjoyed every minute under Ole Solskjaer while Sancho despite having a great season at Dortmund before joining Manchester United finds it very hard to break into the line up under Solskjaer.
One idea that was very clear yesterday from Carrick is the fact that the team must not concede if they can't find the back of their opposition net. It was a night to remember for J. Sancho as he bagged his first goal for Manchester United. Sancho sealed the winning in the 90 minutes of the game after some impressive display from Ronaldo, Rashford, and Fernandes.
M. Carrick yet will still have to prove something on Sunday evening when Manchester United visits Chelsea at home in the league game. Chelsea this season remains the team to beat under Tuchel after winning 9 games from the 12 league matches being played with two draws, they are 12 points ahead of Manchester United.
