I'm always curious to know so many things about the round leather game because that is where my own passion lies and one thing i have been making inquiry about recently is the effect of pre season tour on team performance. Does it really mean that if a team did not perform very well during the pre season tour that it is not going to perform very well when the season begins? Or the fact that a team had a good tour means the season is already secured? These are questions that we need to provide answers to.

The essence of pre season tour is to get the team prepared ahead of the new season and in most cases, this is the period many clubs always gives their academy graduates and new signing some chance to showcase their ability, but some of these players may not even make it to the line up when the season finally start. Pre season matches is just like friendly matches that helps the players to work on their fitness but at times trophy may be attached to it just like the international champions cup.

To my biggest surprises, i have seen some clubs defeating their opponent mercilessly in pre season game and if they are drawn together again in any major competition of the season, they always find it really hard to survive the pressure. I know it affects the game to some extent but in my own opinion, it does define how the club will perform when the season finally begins. It affect the game in the sense that if a club did not have a good preparation during their pre season and they failed to get results in their pre season games, they may eventually take the form to the new season.

It doesn't have much effect on the game to me because club like Bayern Munich may not do well in their pre season matches but they will still end up strong in the league and European competition because when other clubs sees those matches as a must game to win, they always use it to correct their flaws ahead of the season and that is what many top clubs always do as well. Recently, Barcelona defender Pique says the poor run of the club is as a result of their poor performance in their pre season matches. The club is not really doing well in La Liga which makes the likes of Atletico, Sevilla, R.Madrid and some clubs that can not even stand their pressure leading them.

I don't really support that anyway because what i see as the problem facing the club is the fact that their key man Lionel Messi is not really fit since the season begins and that is really affecting the club. Neymar was not part of the PSG squad in their pre season tour and he has been the one saving them in their last two matches. Pre season to me is just to help the play fit and understand the philosophy of the manager toward the game but there are some things we need to take note here, injury may change the look of things or the player that you are looking forward to in the new season may change his mind and join another club and all these will have a negative effect on the team performance.

I hope you find this post interesting and educating until then I remain my humble self @oxygen02. Thanks For Reading 👍
