First and foremost, i will like to congratulate every Chelsea fans out there for the victory tonight at Stamford bridge. Honestly, I don't see it coming and I'm very sure none actually see it too. Going by form, Chelsea don't even deserve it against the league leader. Manchester City started the game very well by pressing high and make Chelsea suffer in the first 20-25 minutes. Raheem Sterling had the chance to put city ahead in the earlier minutes of first half after seen his chance denied by Kepa. City continues to dominate the match and Chelsea players continue to marked every angle to make sure Manchester city didn't stun them.
Ngolo Kante put Chelsea in front in the 45 minutes of the game after a through ball from hazard found him few minutes to end the first half after Manchester City failed to utilize their chances. Manchester City continue to dominate the match again in the earlier minute of the second half before Chelsea finally get it right with them. David Luiz make it 2 from Chelsea first and only corner kick as he headed the ball pass Ederson in the 78 minutes, 12 minutes to end the match.
The match see Chelsea destroying Manchester City unbeaten run in 21 league matches and also see Chelsea extending there home league record to 12 matches at Stamford bridge. Manchester City really missed their hitman Aguero to injury and left Pep Guildiola no option than to play Raheem Sterling upfront with Sane and Mahrez playing from the flack. Chelsea look stronger in the second half of the game as Chelsea continues to attack city from every angle.
Did Sarri Actually Get It Right?
This season witness Ngolo Kante been deployed to another position which has led to many pundits criticizing the idea and they believe this is the reason why Chelsea really find it difficult to stop their opponent whenever they are been attacked. Today, it really worked out for Sarri has Kante was the man who actually handed Chelsea the glory, scoring 1 goal and worked tirelessly to make life unbearable for Manchester City upfront as he continues to move forward to attack.
Sarri stick to his style of play and didn't allow people's criticism to change his motives but made some changes upfront by playing with a false 9 playing Willian, Hazard and Pedro upfront. For the first time this season, SarriBall didn't win the possession as Chelsea had 39% while Manchester City had 61%.
City are now second on the log table after Liverpool climb to the top of the league with a win over Bournemouth FC where Salah score an hat trick for the reds. Manchester City really suffered tonight for not having a killer man in front of goal. Chelsea make use of their chances today and that make the difference at Stamford bridge.
