Aside from Players who have done so well in the month of December, the league is also rewarding managers who perform excellently than their counterpart and 3 managers has been shortlisted for the manager of the month for December which include Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Watford manager Nigel Pearson and Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The decision on who wins this award is not quite different from that of the player of the month award, the winner will be decided by football experts and football fans through voting. Ever since the league started back in August, four awards has been giving out with Liverpool manager winning three of the awards and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard snatching the award for the month of October which means Jurgen Klopp has won the award for the month of August, September and November and is being shortlisted for the December award.
Liverpool manager still remain the favourite to win this award again according to stat but will be very nice to see another manager winning the award for the month of December which I personally think will be somehow difficult but may eventually happen. Let me quickly make a review of how these managers team has performed in the month of December to see who truly deserve the award on stat.
Jurgen Klopp ( Liverpool)
Liverpool played a total of 5 matches in the month of December and won all the matches to extend their lead in the league. They scored a total of 15 goals and only conceded 2 goals and another thing to recall of is winning the World Club Cup. They also recorded another big win against Leicester City who suddenly became a contender for the title with the latest one coming against Sheffield United with a 2-0 win.
Nigel Pearson( Watford)
Another manager shortlisted for this award is Watford new manager who joined the club in the early of December and earned Watford their first home win in the league in a 2-0 win over Manchester United and another 3-0 win against Aston Villa and a draw against Sheffield. Watford played 4 matches in December and won 2 with 1 draw and 1 lose, scoring 6 goals and conceding 3 goals. Not too bad for a club that has sacked two managers in just 3 months to the start of the league.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer( Manchester United)
After a lot of speculations about the club parting with him some months back, Solskjaer seems to be getting it right again at the club and has gotten the recognition for his performance on December. Manchester United played 7 matches and recorded 4 wins with 3 draws and loosing one to Watford. It wasn't an easy fixture for United side facing Tottenham and Manchester City back to back but the most interesting oart of it is the back to back win over the two clubs. United scored a total of 13 goals in December and conceded 8 under Solskjaer.
Football fans now have till Monday to cast their votes for the manager of their choice.
