Derby Della Madonnina or Derby Di Milano or simply put Milan Derby is an Italia Serie A football match between two city of Milan rival clubs of AC Milan and Inter Milan. A rivalry that started right from when Inter Milan was formed.

AC Milan was founded in the year 1899, and just after the turn of the century, there was a disagreement within the board of the club on the number of foreign players to play for AC Milan, thus Inter Milan was formed by some break-away AC Milan board members in the year 1908, thus giving birth to a rivalry that last forever. The rivalry already kicked into motion even before the first ball was kicked.

The Milan derby has featured so many classic matches from time past, so 2018/2019 season first Serie A fixture was expected to be explosive, it was a match played at the Giuseppe Meazza know as the San Siro football stadium, it was a match that the Nerazzurri as Inter Milan are popularly known largely dominated, the Rossoneri as AC Milan are popularly called were happy to seat back and soak the pressure from their rival and break away on the counter attack. The scoreline was 0 - 0 going into the break, and the scoreline suggest, it was a fairly even contest. The 3 major talking point for the half was an injury to Inter's Radja Nainggolan at the half hour mark 30', 2 correct offside calls, one from either sides, Icardi for Inter and Musacchio for Milan the culprits.

Second half was going much the way of first half until the 90th minutes when AC Milan goalkeeper was found in a noman"s land, and Inter's captain M. Icardi made him paid, 1 nil to Inter, and with few minutes left, AC Milan undone by another Icardi late goal just like last season

here are the two (2) highlights of 2017/2018 season Derby Di Milano that saw Inter Milan won 4 points over two(2) legs off their rivals AC Milan:

After seeing AC Milan salvage a late late equalizer by Christian Zapata, Inter were a team on a mission for the reversed fixture, and like the 1st fixture, there was another late drama as Mario Icardi completed his hat trick with another late but controversial penalty to win it for Inter with the scoreline at 2 - 2. AC Milan's goal were scored by Joaquin Suso and an own goal from Inter's Samir Handanovic.

With Inter drawing the first blood this season, it will be interesting what response AC Milan will give on the reverse fixture.
