My team seems to have risen from the flames and have put on a new daring form just like the mystical Phoenix bird. After a humiliating thrashing of 4 goals to 1 in our own home (Camp Nou) by the French giants Paris St. Germaine; a match in which Kylian Mbappe took the ball home (he scored an hat-trick) and made nonsense of our terrible defense, Barcelona have bounced back better and this is something that gives me an iota of hope in the future.
Although we drew with Cadiz on home soil after our loss to PSG, the next match with Elche was the beginning of the "showers of clean sheets"😁. The net embraced the ball thrice on Elche's side of the pitch and not even once on Barcelona's side. We went on to defeat Sevilla by two unreplied goals in Laliga and made it three in our Copa Del Rey clash to secure our place in the finals against Athletico Bilbao which comes up on the 17th of next month and just yesterday Osasuna was next in line.
Jordi Alba opened scoring on the 30th minute of play, making it his fifth of the season. Towards the end of the match, Ilaix Moriba made it two with a superb strike with his left foot that sent the ball into the net even though Osasuna's goal keeper made contact. Ilaix's first goal for Barcelona. This makes him the second player to score his first career goal for Barcelona against Osasuna.. Ansu Fati was the first. Osasuna indeed had their chance in the match and would have scored a certain point blank goal but Ter Stergen denied them.
In three days, we meet with PSG again and I hope this time we return the favor and do to them what we did to them some years back when Unai Emery managed them. The good old days 😁😁
