In July the Italians giants had 83.3 million interactions while Real Madrid were behind with 80 million

The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus has also relaunched the club in the social media stakes. The impact has been across the board but particularly in Instagram. It's just another plus of bringing in the Portuguese star.

Juventus, according to a study by 'Result Sports', gained over 3.5m followers in July when the average increase is usually less than 500,000. This has allowed them to reach 14.4m followers in total, overtaking PSG as the fourth most followed club on Instagram.

Another piece of data which confirms the importance of the Portuguese star is that only four football clubs have more than four million followers on Instagram. Juventus almost achieved that in a single month.

Juve reached July with 6.2m followers across all social media. While in April and June last year, which coincided with them being in the final of the Champions League, they gained a million new followers.

The data from 'Deportes y Finanzas' in July is also very telling. Juve earned 83.3m interactions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, making them the world leaders in sport. Real Madrid had 80m and Inter, the next team to appear from Serie A, were only 14th on the list with 10 million interactions.

Their dominance in YouTube has also been important. Juventus' channel had 36.3 million views, that's over 4.4m than Barça and 11.9m more than Real Madrid. Their growth has been spectacular. In the month of July they had 36.3m views, contrast that with just 18.3m across their first six months of the year.
