In Italy they believe Inter will continue their fight to sign Modric until the end of the transfer window

Inter Milan continue to dream of signing Luka Modric this summer. The Italian side have made a huge effort to sign the Croatian midfielder although in recent days it appears less likely to happen. Real Madrid have reacted to the interest by offering Modric a new contract to bring him in line with the club's top earners.

However, in Italy they're sure that Inter are willing to make one last attempt to sign Modric.

The player's agent, Vlado Lemic, will head to the Bernabeu in the next few days to negotiate the Croatian's exit from the club.

The departure of Mateo Kovacic has weakened Real Madrid's midfield and for this reason Lopetegui isn't willing to sanction Modric's sale. If Madrid were able to find a top level replacement in the market, it could change matters.
