Vinicius Junior impresses on his Bernabeu debut

Before the summer window even started, everyone was talking about big superstars, that Real Madrid is going to sign (Hazard, Kane, Neymar...). Now, less than three weeks away from transfer deadline in La Liga, Real did not buy any of those superstars that everyone was talking about. They only bought Thibaut Courtois and that is only because £35M for World Cup Golden Glove is basically a pocket change in today's football market where less proven goalkeepers like Kepa or Allison cost more than £70M. This transfer window, Real rather focused on bringing young talented players such as Rodrygo, Odriozola, and Andriy Lunin. What is the plan behind decisions of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez?

First of all, it is obvious, that in a few last seasons new approach can be seen in Real Madrid's policy. Instead of buying big names like they did before, Real focused on bringing in young talent, on whom they will build their future. In the last season, they bought Ceballos and Theo Hernandez; Achraf Hakimi, Marcos Llorente, and Borja Mayoral got a fair share of playtime. This season they continued with this approach by buying players mentioned above, Vinicius finally joining the team and most likely bringing in a few new faces from Castilla, who will feature in quite a few matches this season.

Secondly, a trend of bringing in Spanish players from other clubs as well as from Castilla can be spotted right away. I can't remember when was the last time, that Real Madrid had as many Spanish players and players from Castilla, as at the moment. Bringing in Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui was not a coincidence either since he is a perfect manager for this team filled with young Spanish talent.

If this kind of approach is successful is yet to be seen. Most likely not in the upcoming season, but in 2 or 3 years, when players like Modrić, Benzema, Ramos, and Marcelo will be past their peak age. This season Real will most definitely still start matches will almost unchanged XI(just with a new GK and without Ronaldo), but players like Asensio, Odriozola, Ceballos, and Vinicius will definitely get enough playing time at the highest level, to develop even more. There is a big possibility that in a few years, we will talk about new Galacticos, but this time with players who developed in Real, instead of superstars, who were brought to Madrid, by splashing cash all over the place.

Most likely Real Madrid starting XI for upcoming season:

                   Courtois

Carvajal-Ramos-Varane-Marcelo

         Kroos-Modrić-Casemiro

            Bale-Benzema-Asensio
