What was Sarri's way of using J5? Sarri wanted him to touch the ball so much, didn't tell him what to do, he just told him to have the ball as much as he can and initiate the attack with it and we all say what kind of attack he initiated
Lampard told him to hold the midfield, he and kovacic and slowly build up the offence so they'll be passing to each other and since J5's position originally starts from the DM position it makes us hold the ball closer to our defence thereby pushing the defence backwards
Tuchel wants us to offensively attack and counterattack the ball pressing hard for it and keeping it as much as we can, he wants us to always hold the ball and the result of that is passing to the man next to you instead of risking cos we want to hold the ball
All these suppresses J5's passing abilities which we all know he has, he should be told to initiate the attack rather than focus on us holding the ball and we should practice this in training so that he can make those passes even without raising his head knowing that his player has already made the run etc etc
Passing is something you have the leg for or you don't, it doesn't require strength and fabregas even when he's 50 i believe will still be able to deliver a pass if his legs are still working
