When I was a kid, my uncle used to talk about one glorious club, its superstar player and different trophy won by it. It was the time I had just started watching football on TV. It was year 2003, and I was just 10 by then. I knew little about clubs and players. But after the world cup, I had some idea about big name of this game. I was very interested to know more, and he used to explain me about the players that were playing for Real Madrid. I used to watch Madrid play in TV with him, and he was never tried to talk about Madrid and its player. I got to know more about Zidane, Rahul, Roberto Carlos, Figo, Guti, and other many players. And unknowingly, I started following Real Madrid, and turned into big fan of Real Madrid. Now, as my uncle, I am not tried to talk about Madrid.
After sensational World Cup, I was already big fan of Ronaldo. He joined Madrid that summer, and it helped me more to follow them. In 2002-2003, Real Madrid dominated the league that season, as we finished first. Barcelona was not power house during that time, and Spanish league was all dominated by Real. Also, we got out from semifinal of Champions league. Italian club were the most powerful force during that time. 3 Italian club had made it to semifinals that year. Although we won the first league at home, we lost in away match and lost in overall result against Juventus. AC Milan went on to win the Champions League that season. This season was the first time I started following International football.
About Real Madrid:
Real Madrid was established on 6 March 1902 and its a royal club with royal crown in the emblem. Its home kit is white in color and has home ground in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium with the capacity of 81,044. It is the richest club in the world and have the biggest fan base all around the world. Real Madrid had been in top division since league started and have never been relegated. Also, Madrid is most successful European club having won Champions League record 13 times. Real have won Spanish League for record 33 times and have won 64 domestic trophies.
Barcelona and Athletic Madrid are two major opponents of Real Madrid. They are the most awaited matches every season. The match against Barcelona is called as El Clasico and match against Athletic Madrid is called as El Derbi or Madrid Derby. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are two biggest club in Spain and in the World. From the record book, these two club faced each other for 196 times in which Real won 91 times, lost 76 times and drew 39 times. In 2002, El Clasico dubbed by Spanish media was watched by more than 500 million people all around the world and it was termed as "match of the century".
Recently, there are no good news for us as Zidane retired after winning Champions League for Madrid, and Ronaldo left the club and moved to Juventus. We are hoping that we could sign Hazard and we need a goal machine like Ronaldo. Cavani, Lukaku, Aguero, etc can be good replacement.
