You must have seen the referee showing different cards to players during a football match. But what do the the significance of those colors??

Yellow Card

Its a card for caution. Once a player gets yellow card, means a warning has been given to him and its an extra pressure for him. Here the match refree makes a note about the players in the book. The player is allowed to continue to play even after showing the yellow cards to him.

2. Red Card

When a player is given red card, he has to be out of the game for the rest of the time. The worst thing is no replacement player can take his place too, so the overall team has to play with lesser no of player, which is a challenge to the overall team.

This card is issued to a player only after a serious offense in the field and the issued player leaved the ground as soon as possible.

3. Blue Card

This is considered as the lowest level of punishment in the football book and usually issued for misconduct. Offences for issuance of blue card is quite more. Over the next escalation the player gets the yellow card and then attract to get a red card.

4. Green Card

When referee go for a green card, the player leaves the ground immediately, but the team is allowed to get the substitute player. But in red card team is forced to play with lesser no of players.

Here the player is out of the field for the time left till the match end, but can play in the next game.

5. White Card

White card forces a player to leave the ground for 5 minutes. He waits in the bench till the penalty time expires. It was introduced in 2012 during a rugby match.
