In modern football, the classical target forwards are being slowly replaced by fast goal scoring wingers hence to cope up with this teams should need fast agile centrebacks instead of physically imposing ones. Lucas and Pavard will complement Sule very well in this regard. Many fans are still arguing about not signing Delight but from the start, I knew that Lucas Hernandez is better suited. This transfer may attract Griezman to play with French teammates (Lucas, Pavard, Koman, Tolliso), it will be fantastic.

Just think if Bayern needs to park the bus and Niko decides to put out all defenders Sule , Boa, mats, Kimmich, Lucas and Alaba. Signing Lucas Hernandez and Pavard does complete the defense for sure. Alaba on the left, with Lucas as a backup if needed. Sule and Lucas in the middle with Pavard and Hummels/Boateng as a backup (assuming that one of them leaves, which is a tough decision, don't wanna see either go personally).

Bayern has planned this out pretty well. I would add that Lucas is left-footed, so that can be really helpful for the team if one CB is right footed and the second one left foot. And I would add that I think that he is mentally very strong. He never gives up, fights till the end I think he could become a new leader in the team. That's a really important point for me as well. I'm so glad now that finally, they spent money, especially for defenders, Pavard and Lucas surely will come with a new mindset, new motivations, and younger energy.

For me personally, Jerome Boateng never lost his form. Before everyone goes crazy I just wanted to say that this is just my opinion and hopefully someone agrees. For me, Boa is the same as in 2013. His tackling, heading, clearances, passing, everything a defender is capable of. He is complete. Since Sule became a starter everyone seems to not notice but Niklas made way more mistakes this season and Boa made like 3. Also since he(Niklas)became a starter, we conceded way more goals than with Boateng. For me, Jerome is still a CB to fear. Also, there is not much chemistry between Sule and Mats. Jerome seems to work pretty well with Mats and no one notices that.
