We live in the year 2018, the human race learned how to cure many diseases, we made expeditions on Mars, but there is still one thing that we can not overcome, that thing is called "RACISM"!After thousands of years of fights and wars, we still can't understand, that we are all equals no matter what the color of our skin is.

Unfortunately, also in Sports, there are many racist episodes because the fans are very often to ignorants... Or at least in Italy (the country where I live now), is like that!

I was born in Romania and by the age of 10, I came to Italy, as a kid I have to say that I haven't been a victim of racism but yet people tend to treat you differently if they know that you are not from their country. To them, you are just different and even if you speak their language better then how they do, as soon as they find out that you are not Italian, they will start treating you differently.

The message of Mario Balotelli :

Mario Balotelli is a player of Nizza and of the Italian National team, He was born in Palermo on August 12, 1990. Even if he is one the best Italian players at the moment, for all his life he has been offended for the color of his skin.

This year SuperMario is the testimonial of the Festival of the Antiracist Migrant Pride, scheduled for June 16 in Pontida. An event in contrast with that planned for 1 July and organized by the League. Balotelli has autographed the jerseys that will be awarded at the Mestizo and anti-racist football tournament, dedicated to Il Pieri and Hafiz Brc Mohamed, to be held during the day of June 16.

Today he also shared some thoughts on his social profiles, and actually, those thoughts of his are the ones that made me do this post!

"No more racists, let's make them ridiculous. They are carrying a rotten thought".
"We still have a long way to go to get rid of this scourge against racism in football", the words of the blue striker, testimonial of the World Antiracist Championships. "Italy, France, are not racist countries, but there are racists in those countries. In every country of the world, there are some people that have a rotten thought".
The task of all of us is to isolate certain people, to make them ridiculous in front of a medieval way of thinking that in 2018 can no longer exist.

Balotelli then, asked for the revision of the law on citizenship: "I am 100% Italian because I was born in Palermo, even if my parents are from Ghana, but not everyone noticed. Perhaps it's because some people today, still see black as the color of the different, of the inferior, of the error."

Then, from Balotelli, came an invitation for everyone to start acting.

We must be prepared to vigorously denounce all forms of discrimination that we are witnessing or experiencing directly. Change is in the hands of the new generations, of our children; we must show that we are all equal"

Other famous episodes of racism in the Italian football:

However, Balotelli was not the only football player to be a victim of racism. Like him there are many others, probably all black guys that play in Italy, at least for once, have been offended by the supporters of the opposite team because they are black...

Here is a list of the most famous episodes:

17 October 2010 ETO'O - During the game of Cagliari vs Inter ar the third minute of the match, some fans of Cagliari started to scream "buuu" everytime ETO'O was getting the ball. The referee Tagliavento after some minutes stopped the game and invited the speakers of Sant'Elia to spread a message reminding the public that in case of new episodes of that kind, the game would be suspended. On minute 39 Eto'o scored a goal and imitates a monkey as a lesson for those racists "buu"

January 2013 BOATENG - The reaction of Kevin Prince Boateng was even more vociferous. During the friendly game against Pro Sesto in the stadium of Busto Arsizio, tired of the continuous racist choruses, coming from the sector of the fans of the opposing team and  addressed to the black players of Milan,  first he threw the ball against the fence net, then left the field refusing to continue playing, and he was followed by the rest of the team. The game was suspended because the Milan team refused to come back and play.

2001 OMOLADE -  This was probably the best response ever to racists. Akeem Omolade, a young Nigerian striker that was playing for Treviso, has been whistled by the fans of his own team. In the following match, against Genoa, all players and the coach painted their faces in black as a sign of solidarity with their team-mate. Maybe on that occasion, the fans could really see that "we are all equals" During that game, Omolade also scored a goal as a response to racists.
