FC Barcelona is paying Dani Alves a salary for which he would hardly have tied his shoes in earlier times.

That's how fast it goes - but he will cope financially.

Dani Alves will only receive a salary of 155,000 € - per year - at the struggling FC Barcelona. This is what several Spanish media report unanimously.

The 38-year-old Brazilian, who is not eligible to play until January, thus earns less than any other player in the Catalan squad.

The 155,000 € are the minimum salary prescribed by the Spanish league association for a professional footballer.

FC Barcelona: Dani Alves only gets minimum salary

"Alves really wanted to come and therefore accepted the minimum offer" wrote the newspaper Marca.

However, the veteran can expect substantial bonus payments if he wins a title. The contract with Alves, who played for FC Sao Paulo in Brazil until September, runs until the end of the season.

Alves already played for the team from 2008 to 2016, during which time he won the Champions League three times, among other titles. In 391 competitive appearances, Alves scored 23 goals.
