Former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic conceives that the English Premier League is overrated after divulging that he would have taken a legendary reward if he had joined 10 years earlier than he did.
Zlatan was part of Jose’s prospect in his first contract with the Red Devils at the age of 35 in 2016. He was dimmed not being capable of progressing afterward due to the quick pace the EPL possesses but he made his mark in his debut season when he notched 26 goals in 46 league appearances. His tremendous contribution earned the Portuguese manager his first Europa League title including the domestic League cup.
While he spoke to sport media about the occurrence:
“I liked the Premier League. It gets a lot of attention, although I feel the quality is a little bit overrated – the individual quality, the technical part.” Said Ibrahimovic.
He added that he came in a wheelchair but after proving his critics wrong, those who spoke against him were later placed in a wheelchair.
Zlatan won the heart of his fans and manager as he was rewarded with a new contract extension. Albeit, he fell below Romelu Lukaku in Jose’s pecking order and was released in March to earn him a move to LA Galaxy.
Even though his late period in England ended in a gloomy note, he admitted that Manchester United will always have a special place in his heart. The Swedish forward who has played in Europe top clubs including France claimed that he has no regrets over his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain after stamping a record of the highest goal scorer in Le Bleus albeit, the record has been broken recently by Edison Cavani.
Zlatan’s attitude on and off the pitch remains questionable, while some would say he’s a proud player, others will say he will always remain one of the best in the football world.
