Inter officially announced the recruitment of Antonio Conte.

On May 30, Inter club announced the departure of Luciano Spalletti. He was appointed coach of Inter in June 2017. The contract with him was for two years, but in 2018 the agreement was extended until 2021. In the 2018/19 season, Inter scored 69 points in Serie A and took 4th place in the championship table, behind Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta.

Antonio Conte commented on his appointment as Inter head coach.

“A new stage in my life begins, I am very excited. I will try my work to justify the trust of the club management. I have choosen Inter because the team has a solid base, and the club is very ambitious. I was pleasantly surprised by their desire to regain the positions in which it used to be”. Conte previously worked at Juventus and Chelsea. According to media reports, the agreement between Inter and Conte will finish in 2022.

Antonio Conte became the fifth in the ranking of the highest paid coaches in the world. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, his salary in the new club will be 11 million euros per year. Just Diego Simeone (Atlético de Madrid, 23 million), Josep Guardiola (Manchester City, 18 million), Ernesto Valverde (Barcelona, ​​12.5 million) and Zinedine Zidane (Real, 12 million) have a bigger salary.
