Modeste no option anymore?
So I wrote about the fact Anthony Modeste expressed his interest to return to Bundesliga and especially to Borussia Dortmund 13 days ago - but it seems they consider a different option I think makes more sense. Instead of hiring a forward that did not accept an offer years ago and instead followed the money towards China. A forward that is now older without success and with a mindset of a star that would isolate him probably as well in Dortmund I cross fingers that this planned deal will take place.
Paco Alcacer the new striker?
According to several news sources in Germany and Spain it seems they might find a new talented striker. Paco is probably about to be lent to the BVB for 2 million Euros for the season including the option to buy for €25 million. It seems only minor details have to be clarified as well as the obligatory medical check. The 24-year-old striker would be the required striker Dortmund needs. He is young, motivated and a fab talent that moved to Barcelona from Valencia. Naturally he was not always playing there given Barcelona has Messi and Suarez so the move is logical and gives him the opportunity to play Champions League.
Dortmund have spent a large part of the transfer window trying to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left the club to join Arsenal in January. As replacement Dortmund took Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea then but he is now playing in Valencia.
I see this as a good move for both sides - Paco will finally play again and raise his value, Dortmund will have the kind of striker they need and a hot one that is eager to show the world and Barcelona that he might be better than Messi and Suarez. Alcacer joined Barca in 2016 but only scored ten league goals and never overcome the struggles being behind the two super stars at Nou Camp (Stadium of Barcelona).
