The smallest town in Germany playing Bundesliga is up against the 5th richest club of the world. The Citizens (nick name) of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are sure considered stronger but who knows. A football match lasts 90 minutes as Sepp Herberger already found out - sometime 99 minutes.

TSG Hoffenheim - some facts

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is one of the not so popular football clubs in Germany based on the financial backing by millionaire Hopp. Dietmar Hopp is one of the SAP founders and used to play there as young boy and since then is the man behind the club. Unlike England, France in Germany fans hate these clubs owned by billionaires or brands. Tradition of clubs are very highly praised - hence also Red Bull Leipzig is one of the so-called retort club.

I see this a bit more open especially in Hoffenheim which are doing fantastic talent work and do exist since 1899 as a club, so bit tradition existing. The problem people have is Hopp and the way the club took from side 5 into Bundesliga within 8 years. I personally like the way they play, they have a manager talent with Nagelsmann and I cross all fingers for them to win some matches this year during Champions League.

Manchester City - should be all known

I am sure all football fans are aware about this club so I keep it short and simple. ManCity was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group for £210 million back in 2008. Since then they became three times English Champion and try now to win some international titles too. Pep Guardiola - manager legend from Spain, ahem Catalunya - is the ideal one to achieve that goal. He missed this when he was coaching Bayern Munich.

The match situation - ManCity wins 2-1

Both teams are under pressure to win their second group match after Hoffenheim played 2-2 in Donezk in their opening match. Manchester lost to Olympique Lyon 1:2. Manchester just scored in minute 88 and won by 2-1 in Hoffenheim. Germany is sad again - but does not help.
