This past week has not just been an awful one for Barcelona and it fans but it has also dragged Gerard Pique's personality to the mud. The Spanish center back was filled with depression as his careless & short back pass led to Barcelona's loss in disarray. The Catalan side started the season pretty well hoping to enjoy a long term unbeaten run just like last season but everything was cut short by Leganes on Wednesday night, 26th September, 2018. Following the 2-2 draw against Girona on Sunday. The Catalans would have been confident to correct the the Sunday blunder when they encounter Leganes on Wednesday night. Unfortunately for them, the table was turned around as Gerard Pique's defensive fluff led to Barcelona conceding a second goal in the match. Alas, they weren't able to prove critics wrong.

Barcelona took the first half lead with a goal from Phillipe Coutinho's volley after receiving a decisive pass from club captain "Lionel Messi". Later in the second half of the game, at about ten minutes, Nabil El Zhar equalized for Leganes with a header.
Few seconds after the goal, Pique's defensive goof, gave Oscar Rodriguez Arnaiz an assist for his goal and a second for Leganes leaving the score at 2-1 with a complete comeback. The game was turned around from 0-1 deficit to a 2-1 surplus within the space of 69 seconds against Barcelona. After the immediate comeback, Lionel Messi & Coutinho felt like they stung by a Scorpion with the look on their face.
Can you imagine what it feels like to be responsible for your teams defeat causing severe annihilation?That's an awful one for Pique. If I was in Pique's condition, I'll just chop off my head and swallow it, lol.
Gerard pique has every reason to moan while enduring a difficult time been tagged to be responsible for the last three goals conceded by his team. Considering their best for this season, Barcelona have conceded in their last four LA LIGA games against Real Sociedad, Huesca, Girona and Leganes respectively.
Is Pique now too old and sluggish for the Catalans? Will he be able to survive the long term goal of the team? Is Barcelona Treble dream at risk with Gerard pique in their defensive line? This are questions that time will answer.
Nevertheless, I'll leave Pique's condition with a word from Thomas Paine - "The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress and grows brave by reflection".
