Lot of games went down yesterday from country leagues to country cups to the European title(UEFA champions league). After enduring couple of past mid weeks filled with boredom, the game is back to lift our spirits and I can taste the passion filled in the air. The UEFA champions league saw a total of 19 goals in 8 games from four groups and 16 matches.

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Monaco

Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Club Brugge

PSV Eindhoven 1-2 Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Inter

Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Liverpool

Napoli 3-1 FK Crvena Zvezda

Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 Galatasaray

FC Porto 3-1 Schalke 04

While all concentration went to the big boys game, the English Championship teams were busy battling out their heads to save the neck. The game between Aston villa vs Nottingham Forest was an eclipse of goals where both teams finally decided to go home with 1 point each.

Aston villa sits in the 8th position in the table winning 7 matches, drew 7 (Nottingham forest inclusive) and lost 5, while Nottingham Forest lies in the 6th position with 7 wins, 10 draws and 2 losses.

MATCH ANALYSIS

The visitors took the lead in the early minutes of the game after L.Grabban fired open the scoreboard three minutes into the game. J. Carvalho extended the lead just three minutes later leaving J.Lolley with an instrumental fine assist to his name. The Home team were already down by two goals in deficit before 10 minutes into the game. This was hilarious as we thought it dooms day for the home team. T.Abraham knocked in a goal in the 11th minute, reducing the deficit by one goal just before he levelled the game three minutes later. With both teams equal(2-2) again, the game continued. In the 22nd minute, M.Cash found the back of the net, scoring the third goal for his away team but the celebration didn't last long as the home team were awarded a penalty in the 35th minute. T.Abraham again, did justice to the game, scoring from the penalty spot and bringing the game back to balance. It was his hat trick goal for the night. Half the ended with 3-3 on the scoreboard.

The Second half began and Nottingham were really leading the possession table. In no distant time, Lolley had to increase the scoreboard with his decisive goal in 51st minute. Guess who equalled the game again? Yea, it was the man of justice, T.Abraham who made it 4-4 for Aston villa twenty minutes later. This time around, The home side came in front to dominate the score sheet after A. El-Ghazi made it 5-4 in favour of Aston villa. L.Grabban decided to grab a point for his team with his late goal goal in the 82nd minute after a superb assist from Lolley. The full time score was Aston villa 5-5 Nottingham Forest. The forest boys really fought hard through this one even with a red card to their name in the 68th minute. It was a fun filled game for me though. thanks to the pub owner who has couple of television sets and aired the game for us.

Yesterday's night was a clash and quest for dominance between T.Abraham(Aston villa) & J.Lolley(Nottingham).

These players wholly pulled the plug on each other. Abraham was involved in 4/5 goals scored by his team. He scored all 4/5 goals in order, without been interrupted. Lolley on the other hand was involved in all 5/5 goals scored by his team. He assisted 4/5 goals and scored 1/5 goal for himself and the team.

Without been preferentially biased, who deserves the MOTM(man of the match)?
