The race of Usain Bolt switching his career to football could continue in Malta, in the direction of Valletta FC. From the country, comes an offer that could allow the former sprinter to finally crown his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
He trained with Borussia Dortmund last April: he had a few days of testing and also scored a goal in training. However, it was not enough though to impress the side and play in the Bundesliga. The 32-year old Jamaican did not give up, however, as he continued to try and make his dream a reality. At the moment, he is training in Australia with the Central Coast Mariners and in his first friendly, he scored twice. The first was with a run and left-footed low strike into the back of the net, and the second an open net tap-in. These are Important numbers that could now be worth a real professional contract.
Valletta FC have launched the opportunity: a Maltese first division club. The confirmation comes directly from Malta: a two-year contract for Bolt, who is currently reflecting and evaluating the proposal. Not just for the media, the arrival of the Jamaican could also be added value for a team that is aiming to push for the Champions League after a change of ownership.
