What an eventful weekend of calcio. Top table clubs collided, Derby's occurred, and many goals were scored - some more spectacular than others. On the topic of goals, let's travel to the Eredivisie Football League in the Netherlands, where a very familiar face worldwide scored a terrific goal in the final minutes of a match, before being sent off in extra time.

The two clubs of Vitesse and Feyenoord met on Matchday 7; a match that was very important to Feyenoord to win to be able to remain as one of the top three sides in the league, but also for Vitesse as they were hoping to move toward the top of the table by upsetting the home side at the De Kuip Stadium.

🔴 RED CARD #1: In the 63', Vitesse attacking midfielder Thomas Bruns (#10) was shown a direct red card for running into the back of Jordy Clasie (#8), stepping on his right Achilles tendon.
⚽️ GOAL (2-1): In the 88', van Persie smashed home an approximate 30-yard free-kick into the top left corner. An amazing strike and pure class, this was the match-winning goal from the veteran 35-year old:

🔴 RED CARD #2: Just three minutes after his goal, van Persie dove into a tackle studs up resulting in a direct red card.
