On the topic of goals, let's travel to the Eredivisie Football League in the Netherlands, where a very familiar face worldwide scored a terrific goal in the final minutes of a match, before being sent off in extra time.

🔴 RED CARD #1: In the 63', Vitesse attacking midfielder Thomas Bruns (#10) was shown a direct red card for running into the back of Jordy Clasie (#8), stepping on his right Achilles tendon.

⚽️ GOAL (2-1): In the 88', van Persie smashed home an approximate 30-yard free-kick into the top left corner. An amazing strike and pure class, this was the match-winning goal from the veteran 35-year old:

🔴 RED CARD #2: Just three minutes after his goal, van Persie dove into a tackle studs up resulting in a direct red card.
