Millwall will welcome Wigan to the Den (capacity 20,146) on Tuesday night in a game that Millwall need to win to move out of the Championship relegation zone. Millwall have won just one game in their last 8 league games, that win was a 2-1 home victory against Aston Villa. The Referee for the game is James Linington and the match kicks off at 19:45pm GMT.

Millwall

The first priority for Millwall should be to try to keep a clean sheet, they have conceded goals in their last 7 consecutive home games. Wigan will point to this fact in their pre match preparation. However, Millwall have a reasonable record against Wigan, in their 29 previous meetings Millwall have won 12 times with 10 draws and 7 losses. Millwall have no injury worries so will have a full squad to choose from. They will look to top goal scorer Gregory to have his shooting boots on.

Wigan

Wigan have lost their last 4 away games in the league, the last a 4-0 thrashing away at Preston so Millwall will be clinging to that fact for some comfort. Wigan won their last game 1-0 at home to West Brom, arresting a 3 game win less streak in which they lost two games and a goal less draw at home to Swansea. Wigan will be without Massey (Muscle Injury) and doubtful are Jacobs (Muscle Injury) and Grigg (Muscle Injury). Wigan have scored just once in their last 4 games so will be looking for Powell to step up to the plate on Tuesday.

Verdict

On paper this doesn't look to be a great game, Millwall are in a bad run of form and Wigan can't seem to win away from home. Wigan came up from League One as Champions and a strong showing in the Championship was probably expected from most Wigan supporters. They currently lie 8th in the table and if they are to have any ambitions of a return to the Premier League these are the games they will need to win. I think this will probably be a draw and not too many goals in the game either. The last 3 meetings between these two sides have produced 4 dismissals and 15 yellow cards so be on the look out for red cards in this match.
