North London club Arsenal declared their budget of 50,000,000 for this transfer period. Everyone who watched at least few Arsenal games know that their main problem are bed defenders. They always had solid attackers who could score against anyone, but to often they suffer from bad defenders. Only period when they were really good and when they won title and went in Champions League final was when they signed excellent defender Sol Campbell from Tottenham. It is so obvious that they need defenders to replace lost in space person who need radar to detect where is the ball - Mustafi.

However they are into attackers again, they showed interest for Crystal Palace player Wilfred Zaha. 26 years old great dribbler who can play right,left and in center of attack said he would like to continue his career in Arsenal. Crystal Palace sold defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka for 50 or more millions to Manchester United and some brain in Arsenal thinks that he can get Zaha for 40,000,000 !? I wonder what they want to achieve with this I would say brain insulting offer to Crystal Palace ? What fools do they think they are dealing with ? Do they really think they can get him for that ridiculous low sum ? Do they really think someone in Crystal Palace is that crazy ? Even if someone from Palace achieve that level of madness and sell them best player they have for only 40,000,000 that would let them with only 10,000,000 for new signings. For that kind of money they can buy just couple of second hand players which could easily perform even worse than Mustafi last year.

Maybe they plan to sell Aubameyang or Lacazette and replace him with Zaha and earn some money for new defenders. That would have some sense. However sending that insulting offer is not good way to start negotiations. I think they would need to put hand deeper in pocket until they pull out more eye watering sum like 75-80 millions, but wait that is far above their entire transfer budget!

I remember when they outbid Liverpool in race for some player when Reds offered 40,000,000 and Gunners outbid them in classy style with 40,000,001! LoL
