During World Cup in Russia one reporter from our country came across ex Liverpool player Stan Collymore. In interview which he kindly agree to give in pub on question which club he is supporting now he answered Aston Vila. Explanation was something like once Villian always Villian. Despite he played for Villa too, I was astonished because I would expect him to say that he supports Liverpool. Other ex Aston Villa player from my country Savo Milosevic in his interview also mentioned something similar saying that there is strong connection between all ex Villa players and that club.

Birmingham club has great tradition they won 7 domestic titles, 7 FA cups, they even won European Champions Cup in 1981 and super cup in 1982. However, in 2016 they have been relegated to Championship where they struggled until now. Last time this season when I looked at Championship table I saw them in the middle of it far away from promition or playoff positions. In recent months things have changed a lot. I was astonished to find out that they won every game they played since beginning of March. They have 8 consecutive vicotires against following rival clubs:

Aston Villa 4 - 0 Derby County

Birmingham City 0 - 1 Aston Villa

Nottingham Forest 1 - 3 Aston Villa

Aston Villa 3 - 0 Middlesbrough

Aston Villa 2 - 1 Blackburn Rovers

Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 3 Aston Villa

Rotherham United 1 - 2 Aston Villa

Aston Villa 2 - 1 Bristol City

Thanks to this impressive row of winnings they are very close to secure play off place in Championship. Until the end of regular season they need to face Bolton (Away), Milwall(Home), Leeds(Away) and Norwich(Home). Bolton and Milwall should not make them any troubles and with those 2 victories they will probably manage to enter play off where with current form they have big chance to come back in Premier League.

In club where a lot of midfield and attacking players can score a goal one man distinguish himself from the rest of squad. That is young 21 year on-loan from Chelsea Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi who scored 24 goals (5 from penalties) in 36 apperances or 3090 mintes played. 190 cm high player scored 3 goals in last 4 Villa games. His goals put him on second position on Championship scorer-board just behind Pukki from Norwitch who scored 27.

I think it is time that second the most populated city in United Kingdom - Birmingham again have squad who play in the highest competition. Sheffield United, WBA or Bristol should not be to big hurdles for them in playoff.

Who do you think will manage to reach Premier League this season ?
