Leipzig - Tottenham

Champions League elimination stage is bringing us some exciting games today and tomorrow. One of them is duel between German side Red Bull Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur. Like we all know Leipzig won first game in London with 0:1 after goal from penalty spot. They were better side in bigger part of that game and deserved victory. Result of 0:1 gives them advantage, but it's not unreachable and gives some hopes to North London side and brings reminder on last year game against Ajax. They had also 0:1 lead after first game, looked much better, but we know what happen at the end. :)

Germany decided to shut down all events where more than 1000 people are involved so home side will not have big support from terraces.

RB Leipzig

German side is 3rd in Bundesliga behind Bayern and Dortmund. They have 50 points 5 less than leader. Leipzig has 14 wins 8 draws 3 loses with 62 goals scored and 26 conceded. It's quite impressive. They fell on the table because of last two draw games against Bayern Leverkusen (1:1) and Wolfsburg (0:0). It's understandable when we have in mind fact that their main striker T. Werner was absent. Bad news for Spurs is he'll be ready for this game. 24 years old scored 21 goal from 25 games this season. It's young and very fast squad in which plenty of players can score goals. Let's name few: P. Schick, M. Sabitzer, E. Forsberg, C. Nkunku. I still remember "save who is alive" defending from Spurs in the beginning of first game. J. Nagelsmann's man can create a lot of chances during match. They have no mercy for jogging opponents. :)

Tottenham

After understandable loss against Chelsea, unlucky losing against Wolves, shameful FA cup exit against Pukki-less Norwich (thanks to manager and 3rd goalkeeper) and hardly won point against Burnley away things for Spurs come from bad to worse. Sissoko, Kane, Son are all still injured. Last information is saying that Bergwijn also picked up injury which will end his season. It brings question what Spurs are doing on training sessions ? Do they train football or punch and kick each other ? :)

Latest interview of club owner Levy who said he doesn't see direct connection between spending money and winning trophies, but thinks it's all about making right decisions didn't go to well with some of fans. Top 5 train went from station and now it's going to be very hard (almost impossible) to catch it. Announced lower transfer budget if Spurs not qualify for Champions League also didn't come to well with some fans. Tottenham has big problems with style of play, building up actions, movement and determination of players. Only one for who I can say is in full form is G. Lo Celso. He's excellent. He can make good pass even without looking at that side of pitch. He's unpredictable and just great.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho decided to publicly criticize N'Dombele saying he had enough time to get used on Premier League, but he didn't. I am not big fan of such public criticism by coach and really don't see how it'll help player. I share opinion that he was bad in few last games, but don't see reason why Mourinho doesn't allow those two players (Celso+N'Dombele) to play together. He's not good in pressing and taking ball away, but in build up of play and creating chances he could be. He's skillful and could cause troubles to German side because they play on template and he's outside template. :) But for all of that he need to run not to do jogging. :)

Davies is also in injured list which is not to big blow because he is very slow for position he's trying to play. With Bergwijn injured Mourinho called Sessegnon for help. That young lad was far for impressive so far too.

Conclusion

Unlike 1:2 loss at home result 0:1 is far more reachable for away side. Scoring first goal will be very important here, because if Spurs lead 0:1 in Leipzig fear from second and potential elimination will come into home side. Problem is that I don't see who can score that goal for Spurs. They just create to few chances and very prone to panic and confusion in defense. Dier, Sanchez, Aurier, come on let's not lie ourselves they are in the best case for them just average players with very limited skill and very poor decision making.

Red Bull gives you wings

You know how they say "Red Bull - gives you wings". Just hope in case of losing Jose will get to big wings after this which will catapult him from this club before summer. I see lot of chances for Leipzig in this game, Lloris saving the most, but not all of them. I hope I'm wrong, but my opinion here is Leipzig win 2:0 and T. Werner scores goal.
