Tottenham won Norwich 2:1 yesterday. I thought they will do it, but I never assumed it will be so hard. It's not like I didn't know that England Premier League is league where anyone can beat anyone, but I expected more from Spurs. I also knew that battle to avoid relegation can be even bigger motive for players than battle for Champions League place. That's why I didn't place any bet on this game and saved some nerves.

First half

Both squads ran out well motivated with Spurs dominating possession in first half. As soon as I saw squads and after few not successful dribbling by Son and Lucas I remembered song which I earlier saw on twitter saying "Watching Tottn'em on the Wednesday night, we have no striker coz our boss's tight, what a feeling what a night". Plenty of voices are saying different strikers are comming in Spurs, but everyone who came go out disappointed saying transfer is highly unlikely. Mou didn't put teenager Troy Parrot in squad and Spurs played without real target man again. There were some goal attempts from Lamela or Son, but first was saved by Krul, while second went wide of goal. Norwich threatened after counter attacks, but final shoot went always wide of goal.

The best man on the pitch or man of the match Lo Celso who stole a lot of balls from Canaries did it again, Aurier didn't bother to go back in defense as always but waited ball on right wing which was good in this situation, because he was all alone on that position. Ball founded him, he made low cross and Dele Alli made good reaction inside 5m box and scored a goal. Before and after that Alli played like he is his brother and failed to complete simple passes in good opportunities sending to fast or to slow and inaccurate balls jumping like steamed goat after, but at that particular moment he reacted superbly and scored a goal. I like those jumps after bad passes they shows that he cares and that he wants to become real goat. :) Main hero for this goal should be Lo Celso who stole the ball. Levy should call Betis owner right after the game and buy this player permanently.

Second half

Second half brought nasty tackle with open sole which could easily seriously hurt Spurs player, but fortunately didn't. Blond Norwich player got away with just yellow despite VAR checking and was even unhappy with yellow instead to sing from happiness because he didn't go to shower before time. I have no doubt if Son did such attempt he would get straight red. In this half Norwich had 50% of possession and more shots, but failed to equalize until Sessegnion didn't make clumsy move in the box making penalty for Canaries. VAR checked that, there was no contact with foot, but with thighs and according to referees that was penalty. Pukki scored for 1:1 despite Ugo Lloris who returned between posts dived in same direction. Ball was just to fast and precise.

Is it possible it will end with 1:1 ? MOU did some changes injured Winks went out, Dier came in, after 1:1 Verthongen went out and Eriksen went in. Danish player made some bad passing almost causing riot on terraces, but crowd calmed down when one deflected cross felt on second post close to Son who scored goal in american football touch down style.

Conclusion

Spurs secured this hard earned win and thanks to Manchester United loss against Burnley and Chelsea's draw against Arsenal 4th place looks like possibility again. Chelsea is just 6 points above and if Spurs can win them away in following weeks that can lower to 3. I don't think this is likely. This winning against bottom struggling side should not make people think Tottenham is in form again, because it isn't the case. Players are trying hard, play like well motivated, run a lot, but still does not create many chances. Striker signing is must, if Levy fails in it or bring some failed woodwork like Benteke or Llorente Spurs are doomed. Last man mention is Sossiedad's striker who went in London on negotiations, but moment after information was deal is highly unlikely. Main points for concern is that Son or Lucas are not any threat to other clubs currently. Yes Son scored a goal, but come on that was just touch down to easy one! Both players dribble bad and not shooting well. Alli is not passing well in good half counter attacks, Aurier still thinks he is right wing not right back and is losing balls to easy. We also saw some GNU in defense who ate some grass on pitch after slipping in crucial moment when Norwich went in counter attack, but fortunately it was not goal. Alderweireld and Verthongen are still failing to block shots and give opposition to much space and time for preparing shots. Next opponent Manchester city will have no mercy if things don't get better.
