Lord Alan Sugar

Lord Alan Sugar owner of Tottenham Hotspur before ENIC and Levy had his say about idea of fans representatives sit in club's board. He's against them because if that happen there would be 60,000 managers who will all think they know everything the best and thus they shouldn't be included in decisions of football club in anyway. He'd like appointing someone competent who understand and know things, preferably some ex football player who will know what to do.

He has right to some extent. I recognized myself among those 60000 who actually didn't play football but think they know what should be done. On the other hand like football fan and person who is watching football since 1982 I consider I can express my opinion and feelings about situation in his former club.

Owners are giving and investing money and of course want to have something in return except if they are so full like Man. City or Chelsea owners and don't know how to spent it. However at the end of the day football is played for fans and they are ones who have passion toward some club and who are paying tickets and buying souvenirs, shirts and others in club stores. Fans have majority of shares in some clubs in Germany and some other clubs in same country are owned by some big companies and last one seems to be better at the moment. However voice of fans must be heard anyway.

Thing which is happening right now in Tottenham is ownership tyranny. ENIC and Levy are looking at club just like an asset. Owners have no wish or desire to bring some glory to club. They made big nice stadium for more fans so they can take more money from tickets. By the way they charged it 60 GBP which is far away the most expensive ticket price in England. They even plan to host NFL games there! They didn't invest in team on right time and team is on downhill to the point that legendary player H.Kane requested to go elsewhere because he lost all hope he'll ever get any trophy with Spurs. He is very frustrated with way how things are going.

What is even worse is that Daniel Levy who is accountant and superb businessman is making decisions about football and he knows less than ordinary fan. His head of scouts is Steven James Hitchen. He's an English retired professional footballer who played as a defender for Blackburn Rovers and Macclesfield Town. He made and is still making wrong decisions and club is constantly overpaying to bring in some average and very limited players. Club doesn't even have director of football. Just look at names on his shortlist and everything will be clear to you.

So why are Spurs not appointing one ? It could be some ex Tottenham player like Jermain Defoe, Darren Anderton, David Ginola, Teddy Sheringham, Tim Sherwood, Glen Hoddle, Gary Lineker etc... They would further know what Spurs are missing to be more competitive for title. They will say we miss this and that and define positions in squad where we are weak and type of players who we need. His first step is appointing good first team coach with superb fitness coach. This man from Blackburn and Macclesfield used all his credits and need to be changed immediately! Otherwise we would end up with Benteke, Icardi or Martial instead of H.Kane which would be equal to converting club into worst mid table one. Under mid table I think lower mid table like 11-15 place in league.

Rule should be you've been appointed for football director, head of scouts and coach you have 3 years to turn us into something better. If you fail you're out and someone new will replace you. When clubs like Leicester, Ajax, Leipzig can be successful in recruitment of not so expensive players there is no reason for Spurs not to do so. Leicester is living example how ordinary club with limited founds can beat big Premier League bully with unlimited founds. They won both the title and FA cup by buying players like Tielmans, Ndidi, Alojze Perez, but they didn't sell Vardy!

If that can be done quickly, new football director could sit with Kane and ensure him all hope for trophies isn't lost and he might stay. I've read he loves living in London and would not like to move to Manchester. I hope he's not thinking about treason like going to Chelsea. I really hope he's not new Sol "Judas" Campbell. I hope he's not ordinary mercenary who will fight for one who gives more. He should also think about how many people would become very unhappy after such decision. He also would not prove anything by joining City because if I sign for them tomorrow I could lift the trophy too. They don't need him to win title, they can do it without him too. Leicester FA cup is worth more than 4 Man. City titles because it's been taken in not equal fight against much stronger.

Last message for him would be from "Rivers of Babylon": "How will you rise a trophy in a strange, strange shirt ?".
