Antonio Conte

Everyone in Tottenham are excited with appointment of new coach Antonio Conte and hardly wait for his first Premier League game. It was against Everton at Goodison Park, a tough place to go. I knew big change can't come over night, but expected dynamic game with couple of goals. It ended in goalless draw 0:0 with only 2 shots on target for Everton and one post for Tottenham. It was big fighting, though game. Here are my impression about it.

I am delighted that Everton cheat called Richarlison didn't manage to trick referees in V.A.R. room to give him penalty after Lloris got the ball before him. Lad has legs from glass and will fall like knock outed by Mike Tyson if you touch his back with 1 finger. Way how he fell trying to provoke red card for Romero in late stage of game was hilarious.

Spurs showed more stability backward and didn't allow a lot of chances for home side. Ben Davies had good game. He saved us on couple occasions with tackle and important interception of pass, had one good shot which goes close to goal but wide. He made one mistake and destroyed offside trap which made chance for hosts. Skipp, Hojbjerg and three central defenders and wing backs were good in defending, but Spurs didn't do much in attack. It wasn't like there were no promising attacks, but we lacked last pass. Two good chances in first half first one for Emerson who by the way had very good game missed header from very good position after cross on far post from other side and second for Regullion after Kane's cross on far post, but Serhio shot over bar. It was not easy kick, but one from sliding. Few other promising attacks were ruined by Lucas's selfishness who missed right moment to pass and Kane's inability to send good passes in counter attack. It was not much at all.

Second half brought intensive few 5-10 minutes by Spurs, but soon after Everton pressed us like little kids. It become game ugly for watch if you are Spurs fan. It lookes like we will bottle it again! Everton had one big chance and Richarlison one on one with Lloris. Spurs looked back to life near the end in last 5-10 minutes when Lo Celso did great shot from around 20m and hit post! It was the most exciting moment of game for Spurs fans. There was one more promising attack when Lo Celso founded Harry Kane on right, but he failed to send good pass in the middle and then starts to jump like goat nervous because his pass was intercepted.

Conclusion is that result is fair, both sides didn't show enough creativity. These stats tells everything you should now.

Change is not coming over night, Antonio will need time to implement his philosophy. He said he is satisfied with fighting level of his players and told it's the most important that players want to fight. There is debate are Skipp and Hojbjerg to defensive minded, should Conte let Ndombele or Lo Celso or Dele Alli to play alongside one of them to gain some creativity. I don't think so. Hojbjerg plays more attacking in Denmark and if he can do it on the biggest national squad level there is no reason he shouldn't do that in Spurs. If anyone other can be playmaker in Spurs that is Lucas. They can't take ball from him, only foul him!

I believe in Conte's selection. He just need few games to catch who is who here and to start "killing" of players that don't do what he wants! Do you know the best part ? Conte appointed Ryan Mason as first team coach. Mason will learn everything from him. We'll have one beast coach for era after Conte! Are you upset with that fans of other clubs ? :) COYS!
