Dejan Kuluševski and Rodrigo Bentancur signed for Tottenham

January transfer window is over and North London club did some important changes. Two new players Dejan Kuluševski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus came to Tottenham while Dele Alli, Tanaguy N'dombele, Lo Celso and Bryan Gil left club. Alli went to Everton on permanent transfer while Tanguy has been loaned to Lyon, Lo Celso to Villareal and Gil to Valencia.

On first sight it might look like weakening of club because four players important for rotation went out and only two came in. However when you have in mind what those four did for club in recent period you'll see it was close to nothing. Some of them showed up shocking non discipline and possible bad influence in dressing room. I wouldn't count Gil among them and can question only his departure.

I didn't watch much two players from Juventus, but from what I've heard from Italian Juventus fans is that Dejan is good player. He was superb in Parma as teenager and he didn't fit very well in Juventus. He was bought like player for Sarri and Sarri soon left and Pirlo and Alegri came in. They say he's great when he has space when other team attack you, but when other team is sitting deep he's not so superb. You tube videos show he has skill and knows some tricks.

Other Bentancur is tall, excellent in taking ball away from opponents, often tries to pass ball forward but often lose ball too. According to Italian supporters he's not goal scorer too. He was big part in Juve's titles in the past, but didn't do so well in last season. I like to imagine him like tall midfielder who has long legs and can intercept passes easily, who is also strong in aerial duels and in set pieces.

What to say about players going out ? Tanguy Ndombele is very talented but without work habits and his 'state of mind' is reason for big concern. PSG didn't sign him because of that. Dele Alli was great in seasons before Champions League final, but after that he was shockingly bad in most of the games. I feel like he's not into football anymore. Lo Celso is more injured than ready to play, looked promising when he arrived, but he didn't show much after initial good first few games.

Thing I don't understand is moving Gil to Spain on loan. If we payed him serious money and see him as future of this club he should be loaned to some Premier League club where he could play and adapt on life and playing in England. Moving him to Valencia looks like we want to get rid of him on permanent basis because we think he's not player for English Premier League. We think that after not giving him serious chance to play. If that's the case it's big miss and shot in emptiness by Fabio Paratici who bought him in summer.

I'd rate this transfer window 6/10 mainly because of getting rid of players who underperform or doesn't want to play for this club. Will this be good enough to go to top four place on the table is yet to see. While I am sure Conte wanted to get rid of all those players which went out I just hope those two who arrived came because Antonio wanted them and not because we wanted just to buy anyone to show any activity in this transfer window and to fill squad with enough players. I sincerely hope they can contribute to club in following weeks and make wrong those who are saying we've just given Juventus money for buying Dušan Vlahović. Well they can hardly be worse than those who left Tottenham. Cleaning of dead wood has started and that's what I am happy about. COYS!
