Tottenham is facing London rival Crystal Palace on Saturday in 16 o'clock CET. Match comes after two weeks of pause because game against Chelsea has been postponed because they played League Cup final vs Liverpool and lost it last weekend. This is big advantage when you go out of Cup on time, you have more free time later during the season.
Away side changed manager and O. Glasner is in charge now instead of "many face God" Roy Hodgson. We in Spurs wish to England legend Roy speed recovery from health issues and to live many more years. His happy and angry faces when his former club score or concede goal near the end will be remembered forever. Even in this last season he smiled into Pep's face after his squad draw against Man City away. New coach lead Eintracht to Europa League trophy. New manager bounce is also very dangerous thing. They won Burnley 3:0 in last match, but Burnley is not strong and they were down to 10 man. They have dangerous players Eze, Olise, Mateta. Defender J. Andersen is also very quality player.
Home side looked like lazy disbanded gang of disco dancers during most of the game vs Wolves and shipwreck like defeat of 1:2. Fans are very disappointed about this and club captain Son added some petrol in fire with pictures from some night event with Bale and Dele Alli. Ex captain Hugo Lloris blabbered something for press about his time in Spurs after he left it, talked about chairman, missed opportunity to win something and stuff like that.
Situation with injured players is that Udogie has been seen on training and he'll probably make it into squad, while Porro won't. New injured player is Richarlison who has some problem with knee. I don't believe in that official story, but will not spread conspiracy theories which are coming through my head. His absence is not necessarily bad thing because Son will play in striker role. Bad thing is other side will sit deep and Son is not type of player destroyer like Kane who will unfold opposition and score goal. He's great finisher, but not that great with doing headers. Long term injured player and according to dart legend J. Maddison the best with ball in feet M. Solomon is close to return, but will not play tomorrow.
Our goalkeeper and coach received awards like the best in London. Congratulations to them. I can understand it for goalkeeper, but not really for coach, but if it rattles Woolwich fans whose club is fighting for the title I am ok with it.
I expect this squad tomorrow: Viccario, Royal, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son, Johnson. It's not impossible to see Werner instead of Johnson on left side and maybe Bissouma instead of Bentancur in midfield.
If you ask me what I am expecting from this game it's one big nothing. I feel like those players are already on vacation without to big motivation to play. One thing I surely expect they will skip first half like always and save some energy for disco clubs and attempt to play football in first 20 minutes of second half before they disappear from the pitch. Result can go both ways and nothing will surprise me. I am not sure this disbanded group of players can win Burnley or Luton these days.
I had ill dream when some force tempted me with dream about watching this game, Spurs leading it 1:0 at HT and then Palace turn it over to 1:2 and just when Spurs start to play good they concede from counter attack for 1:3. Surely it's very unlikely, at the matter of fact I think opposite will happen more likely.
