Recent unfair red card given to Cristiano Ronaldo at Valencia-Juventus game raised up some questions like what should be done with referees who make deliberate mistakes or are how to deal with some clubs and countries extensive influence in referee delegation in organizations like FIFA or UEFA.
Maybe you remember semi final Champions League game between Chelsea and Barcelona from 2009. This judge from Norway Tom Henning Overbo didn't give Chelsea at least 3 penalties in the game. He could point to the spot 5 times during the game. Three situations were clear penalties while two could be discussed. At some point Didier Drogba said to him that he is disgrace and asked him are you watching this ? What happens later was that Drogba got harsh punishment from UEFA while referee was awarded with new important game to be first judge. Decision from objective organization should be life ban for referee and cancellation of punishment for Drogba. Fact that UEFA did opposite showed that they stand behind wrong decisions and wanted to favor Barcelona to go to final. Referee said after "After that game people started to notice me on the street!" Well of course they noticed you they don't see prick who miss to blow for 5 penalties every day! I had disgusting feeling that UEFA WANTED to favor one club over another!
Other ref I want to talk about is Craig Thompson from Scotland because of Partizan-Fenerbahce qualification for Champions League game from 2008 year. During early stage of the game in front of him on 5 meter in his looking direction Fenerbahce player tripped from the back Partizan player Sasa Ilic and instead of giving free kick from 20m and yellow card to Turk he didn't give even foul! I knew something is wrong with him. Partizan lead 2:0 and scored third goal, but guess what he disallowed it for offside wrongly! That was not the end he hardly waited jump of Fenerbahce player in the box to give them penalty. Game ended with 2:2. He didn't get any sanction from UEFA for this brutal robbery rampage!
Last one I want to talk about is Felix Brych. Above you can see American Football stopping, two players who held Mitrovic and brought him down in the middle of the box in penalty area. That man could see from International Space Station, but German ref got sudden attack of blindness !! Before that he showed us a festival of yellow cards for Serbian players for ordinary little fouls on the center. VAR room was quiet, no reply no review nothing! If he gave penalty and Serbia lead 2:1 Serbia would go to next stage and not Switzerland. He didn't get banned for this by FIFA like nothing happen. Only who get banned was Serbian national team coach Krstajic. On final game I heard that they won't appoint Milorad Mazic for final game because FIFA does not appoint refs from neighboring countries (Serbia share border with Croatia). That FIFA rule was implemented on final, but does Germany share border with Switzerland ? I think yes! Are German speaking people majority in Switzerland ? I think yes too! So one rule for Switzerland one for Serbia or double standards! This was brutal disgusting example of how FIFA and UEFA can favor someone against someone else. I am not saying Mazic should be ref in final, he had mistake in Champions League final (foul hit on head on Karies by Real Madrid player).
These days that prick Brych sent off one of two best players in the world today Christiano Ronaldo for touching hair of opponent player !? Marcello Lippi said ref got sudden hallucination. I am afraid he did not get hallucination, but instruction from someone from UEFA angry on Ronaldo for leaving Madrid and going to Juventus or from someone who favour Messi over Ronaldo and jealous on his number of goals in Champions League!
Question is what UEFA and FIFA should do with referees who deliberately make wrong decisions to make one club or national squad advantage and how UEFA and FIFA should deal with personnel inside them who do such disgusting decisions not to punish such things ? How to get rid of influence of the most influential countries and clubs ?
I am big fan of eliminating such referees for life from football, but not only them! I am also for eliminating from UEFA and FIFA people who decide about referees fate when they don't punish referees for such deliberate mistakes!
