John Terry officially retired as a player after ending his contract with Aston Villa. However, Terry's name cannot be separated from the twists and turns of careers in England and Chelsea.

Terry, 37, has been without a club since leaving Championship division side Aston Villa in the summer market. However, Terry's career climbed before defending Villa, precisely when he appeared with England and Chelsea.

Together with England national team, John Terry has performed 78 appearances. While at club level, with Chelsea, Terry has gone through more than 700 appearances and contributed 18 prestigious trophies.

The player who clung to number 26 has already donated five English League trophies, one Champions League trophy, four FA Cups, three English League Cups, four Super Cups and one Europa League trophy.

However, Terry's career was not always smooth. In 2010 he was caught cheating and even impregnated Vanessa Perroncel's lover from his teammate at the time, Wayne Bridge. The scandal led to the removal of the captain's armband at the national team level.

"After 23 extraordinary years as a footballer, I decided now is the right time for me to retire as a player," John Terry wrote on an Instagram account on Monday (10/08/2018).
