We all all know how Mohammad Salah has taken the football world by storm. It's just been the last season only with Liverpool in English premiere league, he earned all the game, by becoming the all time high goal scorer for Liverpool in a season. The love he has earned all over the world has really been overwhelming and back home in Egypt, he is now regarded as the greatest Player of Egypt. He recently has won the African footballer of the year.
Today my story isn't about Mo Salah, it's about the horrific tale of being famous in country with political apprehensions. Mohammad Aboutrika, is a former Egyptian Player who earlier was regarded as the greatest ever footballer produced by Egypt. He also was considered the greatest in the African nations.
Aboutrika has been a sensational Player for Egypt, attacking mid fielder who earned lot of fame and love and love from peoole of Egypt. They considered him the Egyptian king. He is an all te highest goal scorer for Egypt in world Cup qualifiers with 14 goals to his name. He has scorer 38 goals for Egypt from 100 internationals. During 2006 world Cup qualifiers, he scored three goals in three matches. He helped his team to defeat Sudanby 1-0, and then helped them to come from behind against Ivory Coast and win the game by 2-1.
He also helped his team to won the African Cup of nations in year 2006, 2008 and 2010. His phenomenal run helped his team to become one of the greatest forces in the African content. During all this time, people of Egypt fell in love with him and would follow this king everywhere he would go.
Just like Mohammad Salah, his kind act of charity would move people so much and they felt a great deal of connection with this man. He would do all for his country, spend on poor, do charities.But all of it never remained same. The political scenario in his nation turned topsy turvy and thus changed the life of spectacular Aboutrika. The man who was loved by the people of his nation and the media who would call him hero started to Potray him as the one who was talking against the government. His kind words for opposition had the ruling party in absolute anger and he was thus accussed by the Egyptian government for finding Muslim brotherhood, which has been banned by the Egypt government and has been listed as terrorist organisation.
Last year only in court of criminals at Cairo, he was listed as the most wanted terrorist in Egypt. It's very sad that the greatest footballer of Egypt is currently living in exile from three years. It's a contrasting tale of love for both these Egyptian king 's Mo Salah and Aboutrika. Though Mo Salah who once looked upto Aboutrika, must be very careful with his activities and charities back home.
