When the Uefa Euro 2020 competition started, the Portugal team is one team that was highly pushed to win the Uefa Euro 2020 competition. People were really talking about them and pushing them forward because of their past record and how good their team is. When they were tipping them to win this year episode of the cup I was not seeing it that way. I am that type of person that always love to examine things before I venture into. I studied the team and their strength and I noticed that their team is not that strong for what is on ground in this competition.
Not that their team is not capable enough but the old men in that squad is too much. Take a look at the countries that progresses far, all their team squad are dominated by younger lads who are ready to push their career forward. One good thing about the young players when being used is that once they are used, they love to give in their all because they felt they are still upcoming. Pushing their career to the upper limit is what they are really into.
If you judge by that you will see that they are trying within their powers to make sure that they got to the peak of other great players in this world. This is the more reason you see those young players trying their best to make sure that they put in good display so that they can push their career to it best height. Cristiano Ronaldo and other big stars in the world won't put up much display before they attract more attention compared to me who is just starting, hope you can see the difference right now? This is the more reason that you see the top stars seeing their name being sold very fast compared to young lad.
With the way young lads dominated the Uefa Euro 2020, I was not expecting to see Cristiano Ronaldo winning the highest goal award. I was expecting players like Mpabbe, Sterling, Harry Kane and host of other young and versatile talented youth to steal the show this time around but that didn't happen, it was the old lad that stole the show. Incase you don't know, Cristiano Ronaldo scored five (5) goals for him to be crowned the highest goal scorer in this competition.
What really impresses me is that he was able to score this goal in just four (4) matches and with his country being knocked out I was expecting other players to top him. Team like England, Czech Republic, Italy and France was the team I was expecting to do wonders but that didn't happen. The England team was already seeing Sterling and Harry Kane on four (4) goal tally but they failed to add to their tally if not they could have been crowned golden boot winners.
Cristiano Ronaldo first goal in the competition came up against Hungary. He got two goals in that match and from that moment I was expecting something bigger for him in this competition. We know that when it comes to goal scoring opportunities, Cristiano Ronaldo is not always shy from that. He will bury goals when given the chance to do so. This is why you don't allows him the opportunities to do such, if not you will be punished.
On match day two against Germany, Cristiano Ronaldo made it three (3) goals for himself as he scored just a single goal in that encounter. I wasn't expecting him to score in this match but he proved otherwise by showing us that he is just too good with the ball. The other match where he scored that surprises me was the match between Portugal and France. Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in this match to take his tally to five (5) goals. This five (5) goals took his tally to 109 goals in total for his country. This is really an amazing record I must admit. It is not easy to see a single player scoring that much considering his age. With the way things are going Cristiano Ronaldo might still want to play in more competition, who knows?
Before I round up this post, we should knows that it was not Cristiano Ronaldo alone that scored five (5) goals in this competition, Czech Republic Patrik Schick also scored five (5) but Cristiano Ronaldo won it base on the few playing time he played in the competition when being compared to Patrik Schick nd also the assist he made against Germany. This is how the G.O.A.T won the golden boot award amidst other great young talented player. This is amazing I must admit.
