I never saw this coming, I was watching the match between Southampton fc and Burnley which ended up in favour of Burnley, only for me to come online and see the news that Manchester city has been ban from Uefa champions league competition. I checked properly to ascertain if the news was just mere falacy, but to my biggest surprise, is real.

When I saw this, my mind flash to Pep Guardiola and some key players in the team, I was now beginning to think if this might impacted the team negatively. We all know how Champions league game is so important to players, everybody wants to be recognised globally. This if not treated will have a negative impact in the team. If you take a closer look at signings, you will see that some players refuse to sign for some team, not because the team is not bouyant enough but because they lack champions league or other global league spot.

Take a look at Liverpool fc team, it will be very easy for them to make a bid and the player will be happy to rush dowm compared to team like Arsenal fc who are struggling to keep up with top 4.

The issue of the ban arose following an investigation, which found Manchester City guilty of overstating its sponsorship revenue between 2012 and 2016

UEFA handed down the punishment, which includes a €30 million fine (£25m/$33m), to the Premier League giants for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
