The 22-year-old looked like he had secured his future in the Arsenal midfield for the long haul after a dazzling first season display under former Arsenal boss Unai Emery in 2018.
But the Frenchman was swept to the side following series of recent confrontations at Arsenal and has remained frozen out in the Gunners first eleven completely after he clashed with current manager Mikel Arteta last summer.
Sadly, following his clash with Arteta, the bigwigs at Arsenal didn't waste time shipping him elsewhere. Guendouzi spent the last summer on loan at Hertha Berlin and managed to spin things in his favour at the German outfit. The Arsenal midfielder racked up 24 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha Berlin, scoring two goals and creating five assists.
However, despite his strong run at Hertha in the previous campaign, Arsenal wants him gone again, and French Ligue One giants Olympique Marseille have snapped him up on a season-long loan.
According to reports, Marseille has hired the services of the Frenchman for the rest of the 2021/22 season. And on the side, they've got an agreement with Arsenal to sign Guendouzi permanently.
Guendouzi has had a tumultuous time at Arsenal since Arteta was appointed head coach in 2019. But on the good side, he has a chance to play in Europe for Marseille in the new season. And if he dazzles at the French club, he could join them permanently at the end of the season in a move reportedly worth €9 million. However, for Arsenal, though, it's quite hard to think they gave up on a good player too soon due to bad behaviour.
