In this 2018/19 season, new coach Unai Emery has indeed brought in a new goalkeeper namely Bernd Leno from Bayern Leverkusen. Despite having brought Leno, the former Sevilla coach, in fact, prefer to lose Petr Cech in the inaugural Premier League 2018/19 match, against Manchester City.

In the match, Cech was often seen doing rescue, but the Gunners goalkeeper who was escorted by the Czech Republic goalkeeper had to concede twice and made Arsenal failed to win points in its inaugural match.

At the end of the game, many people thought that Emery had to drop his new goalkeeper Leno at a match against Chelsea on Saturday (8/18). Especially when Cech, made a mistake when passing the ball that almost made an own goal, the public began to doubt it.

However, the former Sevilla coach, has confirmed that he still believes Cech to be able to keep the Gunners' goal in the game against the Blues.

"I am very happy with Cech's performance (when facing Man City). He has experience, and quality is excellent. Bernd Leno also has the same quality. They are two goalkeepers who are important to us," Emery said.

"They have different qualities. With our style of play, both of them can play anytime. However, for the match day on Saturday, my decision is very easy. Petr Cech, I will continue to reduce it again. I really believe him," he concluded.
