Tiemoue Bakayoko's failure to adapt to Chelsea after being imported from AS Monaco in the 2017/18 season made him unable to get a high playing time and is now not included in Maurizio Sarri's plan as a new manager.
Based on a statement from the official website of AC Milan, the French passport player has joined Gennaro Gattuso's farm team with a one-season loan contract.
The contract also includes an option to recruit Bakayoko permanently at the end of the duration of the loan, but there is no information about the transfer value that the Rossoneri will issue if they wish to activate the option.
Positioning as a midfielder, Bakayoko's arrival at the San Siro is expected to increase the strength of Milan who are currently hoping that they can return to the top flight of Italian football after experiencing a decline in positions in recent seasons.
The 23-year-old will compete with Lucas Biglia, Giacomo Bonaventura, Franck Kessie, Alen Halilovic and several other players from the Primavera team who are looking for opportunities to enter the first team.
