Liverpool's decision to bring Andrew Robertson in 2017 did surprise several parties, especially after he was difficult to penetrate the main squad and was unable to compete with another teammate, Alberto Moreno.

Not giving up, the Scottish player continued to display his quality and finally won Jurgen Klopp's trust. Even in its inaugural season, Robertson became an important figure behind the success of his team to advance to the final of the Champions League, although ultimately failed to win because of defeat from Real Madrid.

Now in the 2018/19 season, Robertson is still a mainstay in his team's back line, appearing consistent, the club was impressed with the performance of the 24-year-old player and already has plans to provide a contract extension.

Not only will it add to its tenure, Liverpool is also claimed to be giving a salary increase of 60,000 pounds per week. If the player brought in from Hull City agrees to remain at Anfield, then Robertson will last until 2023.

The club, founded in 1892, seems to be in the midst of actively increasing the service period of some of its flagship players. Previously the club had extended Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson's contracts.
