The Bundesliga weekend was not really productive in terms of decision. Both the German championship and the bitter run into the 2nd Bundesliga has been postponed by at least one week.

While the record champion from Munich did his homework in the domestic Allianz Arena and defeated Hannover 96 with 3:1, leaving the Hanoverians with only minimal theoretical chances to maintain their class, the BVB failed again in the championship race.

In Bremen's Weser Stadium, Borussia did not exceed 2-2. Despite a 2-0 lead, the Favre protégés could not win the away game and lost more ground to FC Bayern. It was Claudio Pizarro, of all players, who scored the BVB with his equalizing goal again like in the DFB Cup quarter-finals.

With now four points ahead the Bavarians have the possibility to win the championship in Leipzig next weekend. RB Leipzig is FC Bayern's final partner for the DFB Cup a few days later. The Saxons had to bury their secret hopes for the championship at the weekend because they only drew 3:3 in Mainz.

The BVB has only theoretical hopes for the title. Not only that you have to win the next two games against Fortuna Düsseldorf at home and on the last matchday in Gladbach to get the chances, you also have to hope for a weakness of the Bavarians from their last two games may not get more than one point. With two draws the Bavarians would probably be German champions because they have the better goal ratio in contrast to the BVB.

With the away game in Leipzig and the home game on the last matchday against the strong surprise team from Frankfurt, FC Bayern have two difficult games in front of their chests. However, the Bavarians will not let this chance to take the title anymore.

In the relegation fight on the weekend a similar picture was presented as in the fight for the championship. Here, too, nothing has yet been decided between Hannover 96, 1st FC Nuremberg and VfB Stuttgart. After all, we know since the weekend that the teams of FC Schalke 04, SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg are also next season first-class.

While Hannover 96 has only a minimal theoretical chance to maintain their class, the chances at 1.FC Nuremberg are even more real. The Hanoverians have to win their last two games against the sports club from Freiburg and Fortuna Düsseldorf to keep their chances. At the same time, however, one must hope that the VfB does not get a point and the FCN no longer like 4 points gotten in the last two games.

1 FC Nürnberg, on the other hand, must also win their last two games against Gladbach and Freiburg. It wouldn't matter what Hannover does because they have 19 points more than the Niedersachsen and would come with two wins to 25 points. But the VfB is not allowed to get more than one point. A point would be too little for the VfB because the club has the better goal ratio. With two victories of the Nuremberg team and two defeats of the Stuttgart team, they would relegate directly and the FCN would conquer the relegation place. If the VfB should get 2 points from the last two games Hanover and Nuremberg directly descend and secure the relegation place for themselves.

So it remains exciting in Germany's cream league.

Bye
