For the first we will be seeing a nice development in the African tournament. Despite the controversy surrounding VAR in some leagues, some leagues still think VAR is good to aid referees decisions on the pitch. However, VAR has suffered critics at the 2018 World Cup after the unfair judgment of the referees despite the use of VAR led some teams out of the tournament. I know some people don't like VAR because the final decision ultimately lies on the referee who could still make final decision based on bias

The Confederation of African Football has finally approved the use of VAR at the next African Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Egypt. This was confirmed this weekend by CAF

At 2019 AFCON, VAR will be used to aid decision making such as foul, offside goals, red cards, penalty decisions, or any other violation that led to a goal, and many other things VAR is used for.

Although this is not the first time VAR will be used in African football, I remember it was used during the finals of the CAF Champions League between Esperance of Tunisia and Al Ahly of Egypt. It was not only used at CAF champions League but also 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.

Left for me, I like VAR and I want to see it in the African Cup of Nations
