African referees and bribery are two things you can't separate. This is what has been the bane of African football since time immemorial but this time it actually cost Tanzanian referee, Oden Charles Mbaga his referee career

Tanzanian popular referee, Oden Charles Mbaga has been found guilty of accepting bribe for taking bias decisions and match-fixing and has been banned for life by FIFA. As we all know that it's the culture of some African referees to collect bribe to favour a particular team during game play and many have been caught and reprimanded by either short or long term bans for going against FIFA ethics but this time, Mbaga's act of corruption didn't go well with FIFA and his career suffered for it... It's funny to say that Mbaga has made a negative record for becoming the second African referee to be given a life ban by FIFA

Reuters reported Mbaga to FIFA for allegedly accepting bribes to manipulate both local and international matches between 2009 and 2012 but did not give any further details over which matches were involved. Upon FIFA's investigation, he was found guilty of the allegations and has been stripped of his referee career for life. Additionally, he was also fined $200 000.

It's still not known if Mbaga plans to appeal against the life ban but I'm glad this will serve as a lesson to him and other corrupt referees

What do you guys think about this barbaric act?
