In case many of you don't know, Thierry Henry had his root in As Monaco far back in 1998, after which he moved to Juventus. He was a prolific striker and Gunner's all-time leading scorer with 228 goals in all competitions. Most of us will attest to the fact that he was a scoring machine during football career in Arsenal.

After retiring from football, he nurtured and transitioned into coaching and was appointed as an assistant coach at Belgium in 2016. He was also invited to coach Aston Villa but he rejected the offer. He has finally been confirmed as the new coach of As Monaco after Leonard Jardim was sacked on Thursday.

In 2017, Jardim won the league title for Monaco but last season was not a fruitful season for him. As I speak, they're currently sitting in the 18th position on the table and have had only a win in the tournament so far. According to Thierry, he's very elated for the incredible opportunity given to him to coach him former club, As Monaco and he has promised to be extremely determined to meet the challenges and improve on the club's performance.

I have a feeling that Henry is going to do well if given enough time. Looking at Zidane, he was coaching Castila, Real Madrid junior team in 2014. In 2016, an opportunity opened for him and he moved up. His two years coaching the junior team actually fostered his promotion as a coach.

Monaco is the perfect place for him unlike Aston Villa because he has his root there and he should know how things are being done there

I drop my pen at this juncture 😎

What do you think about Henry being the Coach of As Monaco?
