In Sports, no! but in football, I will say Yes
The Ronaldo-Messi rivalry is so impressive and interesting that these two great players are undoubtedly two of the greatest football players who have faced each other several times. However, their rivalry has made them amass honours, record breaking and trophies. Before these two players came on board, the idea of scoring 50 goals in a season was a great feat to achieve but now, you can imagine how high they set the bar for both current and future players.
The rivalry between these two great players is the reason why they've gone this far. Without Ronaldo, Messi couldn't have been challenged to play so well like he has been doing, and same goes for Ronaldo. This is not only limited to football but life in general. Competition is really needed for us to do the unimaginable
Ronaldo and Messi have the most honest rivalry that I've seen in football. You don't see them criticize each other or make hate speech to the media, rather they respect each other. Each time I see people quarreling and fighting over these players I see them as foolish people because these players in question don't even quarrel or fight
Every generation will always experience a stellar of rivalry between two players which may either be equal or above that of Ronaldo-Messi. In the last generation, it was the rivalry of Pele-Maradona who were also great players. In tennis, we have that of Federer-Nadal who are example of rivalries that were as fierce as Ronaldo-Messi
When you talk about rivals they compete with each other in almost everything and we can wee this in Ronaldo and Messi. When Messi won balon d'Or five times and Ronaldo won just three, he had to work so hard to close the gap. Aside balon d'Or they've also been competing with each other in goals and record breaking. When Ronaldo left Madrid to Juventus some of us were not really happy because we will miss the rivalry between them which brought fun and tremendous game which we've been enjoying
Rivalry is very good in football as it breeds great players. Rivalry makes evolution of great players but hating on each other or public lashing like musicians do is irrelevant in the game of football.
In my own opinion, instead of going into a fruitless argument of who is a better player between Ronaldo and Messi , I think we should be thankful we have the opportunity to watch these two legend in our time unlike Maradona-Pele which we only read in papers
Ronaldo Vs Messi are the greatest yet they have a healthy rivalry against each other and that's the way it should be
