Following the preparation for the 2019 African Cup of Nations which is scheduled to hold from 21st June- 19th July, four strikers have been selected to represent the Super Eagles at the anticipated tournament

This was disclosed by Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr yesterday after shortlisting the players that will be representing Super Eagles at the tournament.

The four strikers that have been shortlisted to participate in the tournament are Odion Ighalo, Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen

Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo is a Nigerian born striker who started his career at Julius Berger before moving to Lyn in Norway to pursue his career. Ighalo also represented Nigeria as a striker at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He was heavily criticized and was said to be a bad luck for the team for losing a goal that could have led Nigeria to the round of 16. He performed well to gain back the love of fans during the AFCON qualifier

Iheanacho

Iheanacho is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Leicester City and also for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. As a promising player, he won the U17 World Cup for the Super Eaglets in 2013. Iheanacho is one of the best strikers we currently have in the National team. He was selected by coach Rohr to take us to the promise land in the African Cup of Nations

Paul Onuachu

Paul Onuachu is a Nigerian born striker who plays FC Midtjylland. He's new to the Eagles but he has got many tongues wagging with his scoring ability. He was called to join the Nigerian under-23 national in 2015 and four years later, coach Rohr called in March 2019 to join the Super Eagles. He scored of ne of the goals that securednus a slot at the AFCON 2019 during the qualifier and he is among the strikers that is shortlisted for the Egypt 2019 Nations Cup

Victor James Osimhen

Victor James Osimhen plays as a striker for Charleroi. He was for formerly a Super Eaglet player who won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile. He was unfortunate to participate at 2018 World Cup due to his inconsistency. Osimhen was called in November 2018 by Rohr for an international friendly match and he's lucky to be among the strikers shortlisted for the 2018 AFCON
