For the first time since 2013, we are seeing neither Lionel Messi nor Ronaldo playing the UEFA Champions League final. Ronaldo got eliminated by Ajax in the quarter final while Messi got eliminated by Liverpool yesterday at Anfield with a remarkable comeback that ended in a 4-3 aggregate after a 3-0 victory for Barcelona at Nou Camp
These two players are good in what they do and I'm glad I witness their football. For more than ten years they both dominated football, scoring goals and winning trophies for their club side.
Unfortunately, it looks their dominance and era is finally coming to an end. It's been awesome having to enjoy them both all these years and we are going to miss this two players wen they both eventually vacate the scene. Now we are going to watch the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in six years that neither Messi or Ronaldo will be playing
They have really set a big standard and I wonder who can step in the big shoes they would leave behind
